What or Who will influence your next purchase?

Technology has enabled consumers to communicate directly with companies, and even more importantly with each other, altering traditional business models forever.

A recent Universal McCann report, When Did We Start Trusting Strangers? , offers a very interesting look at the role of influencers, how consumers are sharing information and the impact of global social media.

Are you more likely to trust a single search engine to influence your next purchase or rely more on the advice of other consumers? Some may say that search engines are more of a gamble while a source such as Angie’s List is an excellent example of consumer advocacy. Consumers share real-life stories and influence decisions based on authentic experiences within a trusted environment.
