An interesting position!
This week Facebook officially took over Google’s place for time spent on sites in the US. Facebook is also the third largest video destination and retailers are using video on Facebook as a key driver of branded content.
What does this mean… Holiday positioning, defined targets and people-to-people influence like never before.
In August, people in the States spent a total of 41.1 million minutes on Facebook. Source: comScore. Compare that to the 39.8 million minutes of time spent on all of Google sites combined, including YouTube and Gmail. Also consider, Facebook places. Mobile place-based, tags and qr codes are also part of the retailers new marketing and Facebook is now location savvy.
Trends: The adoption of social connections is extraordinary. The results of all this connectedness…world changing disruption of…everything.
